Access to Credit and Subsidized Loans: MSME registration allows access to priority sector lending and lower interest rates.

  1. Tax Benefits and Subsidies: Registered MSMEs receive various tax benefits, subsidies on patent registration, and cost reimbursement for ISO certification.
  2. Protection Against Delayed Payments: MSMEs are safeguarded by regulations that enforce timely payments from buyers, reducing financial distress.
  3. Government Tenders: MSMEs get priority in government tenders, and many are reserved exclusively for MSMEs.
  4. Eligibility for Concessions: MSMEs can avail of power tariff subsidies, exemptions on excise, and other state-specific benefits.
  5. Ease of Access to Market and Technology: Through schemes, MSMEs have better access to digital and physical marketplaces and new technologies.

  2. Other Compliances for Availing Subsidies: MSMEs availing schemes like credit-linked subsidies or technology upgradation programs need to adhere to compliance terms under these schemes.
  3. Maintenance of Records: MSMEs are expected to maintain accurate records of business transactions, employee records, and compliance documentation as per business needs and for audit purposes.

  5. Update of Information on Udyam Portal: Any significant changes in business structure or activity should be updated on the Udyam portal, especially if it affects the classification of the enterprise.

Penalties for Non-Compliance

  2. Interest on Delayed Payments: For businesses that don’t comply with timely payments to MSMEs, interest penalties may apply.
  3. Legal Action: For companies failing to adhere to delayed payment provisions under the MSME Act, legal proceedings can be initiated by MSMEs.
